The Consortium for Foundation Mathematics created the Mathematics in Action series to empower students to succeed in their future study of mathematics and other disciplines. The texts are based on the premise that we all learn mathematics best when we are actively involved in solving problems that are meaningful to us. Appropriate technology is integrated throughout the books, allowing students to interpret real-life data verbally, numerically, symbolically, and graphically. It is our hope that this series will help students learn to see mathematics in action all around them.
